Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and experienced Network Engineer to join our growing IT team in Highlands, Curepipe. This pivotal role focuses on ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of our in-house information systems that support core organizational functions. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of our network infrastructure, encompassing LAN, WAN, and wireless networks. Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable and secure network infrastructure (LAN/WAN/WLAN) solutions.
- Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to optimize connectivity and uptime for all critical services.
- Administer and troubleshoot network hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and access points.
- Develop, enforce, and regularly review network security policies and procedures, including access control lists, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Perform regular network backups, participate in disaster recovery planning, and execute system upgrades and patches.
- Document network configurations, diagrams, procedures, and troubleshooting steps comprehensively for knowledge transfer and compliance.
- Collaborate effectively with other IT teams (e.g., server, application, security) and business stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of network services.
- Provide advanced technical support and resolve complex network-related issues in a timely and efficient manner.
- Evaluate and recommend new network technologies, hardware, and software solutions to enhance efficiency, security, and capabilities.
- Manage vendor relationships for network services and equipment, ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
Required Skills
- Proven experience with Cisco, Juniper, or equivalent enterprise-level networking equipment and technologies.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP), VLANs, and VPN technologies (IPsec, SSL VPN).
- Proficiency in network security principles and firewall management (e.g., FortiGate, Palo Alto, Cisco ASA).
- Experience with network monitoring tools and protocols (SNMP, NetFlow, Wireshark).
- Solid troubleshooting skills and ability to diagnose and resolve complex network problems efficiently.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, CompTIA Network+, or similar.
- Experience with cloud networking concepts and services (Azure Virtual Networks, AWS VPCs, GCP Cloud VPN).
- Familiarity with VoIP and IP telephony systems and their integration into network infrastructure.
- Scripting skills (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for network automation and task streamlining.
- Knowledge of SD-WAN technologies.
