Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain secure and scalable network infrastructures (LAN/WAN, wireless, VPN).
- Configure and troubleshoot network hardware including routers, switches, firewalls, and access points.
- Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to ensure optimal operation and uptime.
- Develop and enforce network security policies, procedures, and best practices to protect data and systems.
- Conduct regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing.
- Respond to and resolve network incidents, outages, and service requests in a timely manner.
- Provide expert-level technical support and guidance to internal teams and clients.
- Manage and maintain network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and change logs.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for critical network support.
- Evaluate and recommend new network technologies and solutions to enhance capabilities and efficiency.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate network solutions with broader IT systems.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Network Engineer or similar role (minimum 3 years).
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), and switching technologies.
- Proficiency with firewall configuration and management (e.g., Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, FortiGate).
- Experience with VPN technologies (IPsec, SSL VPN).
- Solid knowledge of network security principles and best practices.
- Experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP Security, CompTIA Network+, or CISSP.
- Experience with cloud networking (Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Knowledge of scripting for network automation (e.g., Python, Ansible).
- Experience with SD-WAN technologies.
- Familiarity with ITIL framework for service management.
