This pivotal role focuses on ensuring seamless connectivity, fortifying our security posture, and providing expert support across our diverse client environments. You’ll be instrumental in managing complex network systems, from routers and switches to firewalls and VPNs, ensuring optimal performance and protection against evolving cyber threats. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, configure, and maintain network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
  • Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and troubleshoot complex network issues to ensure high availability and reliability.
  • Administer and configure network security systems, including VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and access control lists (ACLs).
  • Develop and maintain network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Perform regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Respond to and resolve network-related incidents and service requests in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to integrate new technologies and optimize existing network solutions.
  • Implement and manage network segmentation, VLANs, and other network architecture best practices.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for critical network support outside of standard business hours (as required).
  • Stay current with emerging network technologies, security trends, and industry best practices.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience with Cisco networking devices (routers, switches, ASA firewalls).
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), and switching technologies (VLANs, STP).
  • Hands-on experience with next-generation firewalls (e.g., FortiGate, Palo Alto, Cisco Firepower).
  • Proficiency in VPN technologies (IPSec, SSL VPN).
  • Experience with network monitoring tools and troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Solid understanding of network security principles and best practices.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve complex network performance and connectivity issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Fortinet NSE 4/5, or equivalent.
  • Experience with cloud networking platforms (e.g., AWS VPC, Azure Networking).
  • Familiarity with scripting languages for network automation (e.g., Python, Ansible).
  • Knowledge of SD-WAN technologies.
  • Experience working in an MSP (Managed Service Provider) environment.
