Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, configure, and maintain network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and troubleshoot complex network issues to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Administer and configure network security systems, including VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and access control lists (ACLs).
- Develop and maintain network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Perform regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate potential risks.
- Respond to and resolve network-related incidents and service requests in a timely and efficient manner.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to integrate new technologies and optimize existing network solutions.
- Implement and manage network segmentation, VLANs, and other network architecture best practices.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for critical network support outside of standard business hours (as required).
- Stay current with emerging network technologies, security trends, and industry best practices.
Required Skills
- Proven experience with Cisco networking devices (routers, switches, ASA firewalls).
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), and switching technologies (VLANs, STP).
- Hands-on experience with next-generation firewalls (e.g., FortiGate, Palo Alto, Cisco Firepower).
- Proficiency in VPN technologies (IPSec, SSL VPN).
- Experience with network monitoring tools and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Solid understanding of network security principles and best practices.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve complex network performance and connectivity issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Fortinet NSE 4/5, or equivalent.
- Experience with cloud networking platforms (e.g., AWS VPC, Azure Networking).
- Familiarity with scripting languages for network automation (e.g., Python, Ansible).
- Knowledge of SD-WAN technologies.
- Experience working in an MSP (Managed Service Provider) environment.
