Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable and secure network infrastructures (LAN, WAN, WLAN).
- Monitor network performance, troubleshoot complex issues, and ensure optimal uptime and reliability.
- Configure and manage network hardware including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
- Develop and enforce network security policies and procedures to protect against unauthorized access and threats.
- Perform regular network capacity planning, performance tuning, and system upgrades.
- Collaborate with IT, cybersecurity, and development teams on projects requiring network integration.
- Create and maintain detailed network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and operational procedures.
- Participate in on-call rotation for critical network incidents and provide timely resolution.
- Research and recommend new technologies and solutions to improve network efficiency and security.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of experience in network engineering and administration.
- In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), and switching technologies.
- Proven experience with firewall management (Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, FortiGate, etc.).
- Strong understanding of VPNs, VLANs, QoS, and network security best practices.
- Experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools.
- Proficiency in network hardware from vendors like Cisco, Juniper, or HP Aruba.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIS, or equivalent.
- Experience with cloud networking (AWS VPC, Azure VNet, Google Cloud Networking).
- Familiarity with network automation tools and scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible).
- Experience in a managed service provider or enterprise-level environment.
