As a Network Infrastructure Assistant, you will play a crucial supporting role in maintaining and optimizing our critical network infrastructure that underpins our national services. Your daily tasks will involve assisting with the installation, configuration, and proactive troubleshooting of various network devices, from core routers and switches to access points and optical network terminals, all with the ultimate goal of ensuring the utmost stability, security, and high performance of our services for millions of customers. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior technicians and engineers with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, servers) and various cabling systems (copper and fiber optics).
  • Perform continuous monitoring of network performance and system health, identifying and accurately reporting potential issues or deviations from established baselines.
  • Execute basic troubleshooting of network connectivity problems, device malfunctions, and service interruptions, escalating complex issues to appropriate senior personnel for resolution.
  • Maintain meticulous documentation of network configurations, changes, inventory, and troubleshooting steps in designated systems and databases.
  • Support the deployment, upgrade, and decommissioning of network components as per project requirements and operational schedules.
  • Conduct regular inventory checks of network equipment, tools, and spare parts, ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained.
  • Strictly adhere to all company safety protocols, operational procedures, and industry best practices to ensure a secure working environment.
  • Actively participate in ongoing training, workshops, and development programs to continuously enhance networking skills and knowledge.
  • Provide technical assistance and support to internal teams as needed.

Required Skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field is highly preferred.
  • Basic foundational understanding of networking concepts (e.g., TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching).
  • Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows and basic command-line interfaces (CLI).
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly.
  • Proven ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated eagerness and capacity to learn new technologies, processes, and industry standards quickly.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various conditions, including confined spaces or at heights if required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Entry-level networking certification (e.g., CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CCNA Entry/CCT).
  • Prior hands-on experience (even voluntary, academic projects, or internships) with network cabling, hardware installation, or basic IT support.
  • Basic understanding of fiber optic technology and concepts.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools and ticketing systems.
  • Experience with basic scripting or automation tools.
