Job Description

Are you a proactive and detail-oriented individual with a keen interest in telecommunications technology? Movitel is seeking a dedicated Network Monitoring Aide to join our operations team in Inhambane City. This role offers the unique opportunity to contribute to the stability and performance of our extensive network infrastructure, ensuring seamless connectivity for our valued customers. As a Network Monitoring Aide, you will be the eyes and ears of our network, responsible for continuous surveillance, initial incident detection, and preliminary troubleshooting of network anomalies. Key Responsibilities

  • Continuously monitor network performance and health using various monitoring tools and dashboards.
  • Identify and report network incidents, alarms, and performance degradation in a timely manner.
  • Perform initial troubleshooting steps to diagnose network issues and escalate to senior engineers when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of network events, incidents, and resolutions in the ticketing system.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure prompt resolution of network-related problems.
  • Assist in the generation of routine network performance reports.
  • Adhere to established operational procedures and security protocols.
  • Participate in on-call rotations or flexible shift schedules as required to ensure 24/7 network surveillance.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of network monitoring processes and tools.

Required Skills

  • Basic understanding of computer networking principles (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN)
  • Proficiency in using common office software (Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Fluency in Portuguese and working knowledge of English

Preferred Qualifications

  • A diploma or certificate in Information Technology, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, Zabbix).
  • Prior experience in a technical support or helpdesk role.
  • Basic knowledge of mobile communication technologies (GSM, UMTS, LTE).
  • Understanding of ITIL framework or similar service management best practices.
