Key Responsibilities
- Continuously monitor network performance, availability, and alerts using specialized tools and dashboards.
- Proactively identify, analyze, and escalate network anomalies, outages, and performance degradation issues to senior technicians or relevant teams.
- Perform initial troubleshooting steps for common network problems and incidents.
- Maintain accurate and detailed logs of all network events, incidents, and resolutions within the ticketing system.
- Assist in the documentation and upkeep of network configurations, operational procedures, and incident response guides.
- Collaborate effectively with the technical support and engineering teams to ensure timely resolution of complex issues.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of network monitoring processes, tools, and best practices.
- Adhere strictly to established service level agreements (SLAs) and internal operational guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with all security policies and best practices during monitoring and incident handling activities.
- Generate regular reports on network health, performance metrics, and incident trends for review by management.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, DNS).
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., basic exposure to NMS platforms).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with excellent attention to detail.
- Exceptional observational skills and ability to identify subtle changes in network behavior.
- Proficiency in English, both written and verbal communication, for technical documentation and team collaboration.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Basic computer literacy, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and command-line interfaces.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant certification (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CCNA entry-level, ITIL Foundation).
- Prior experience with ticketing systems for incident management and tracking.
