Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and proactive Network Operations Centre (NOC) Technician to join our growing team in Innenstadt, Halle. As a NOC Technician, you will be at the forefront of ensuring the continuous availability and optimal performance of our vital network infrastructure and services. This hands-on role involves 24/7 monitoring, incident detection, diagnosis, and initial resolution of network and system anomalies. You will play a crucial part in maintaining the stability and security of our clients’ operations, working with cutting-edge technology in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Your day-to-day will involve utilizing advanced monitoring tools to detect potential issues before they impact services, responding swiftly to alerts, and methodically troubleshooting problems ranging from connectivity issues to routing anomalies. We are looking for someone with a sharp analytical mind, excellent problem-solving skills, and a strong foundational knowledge of networking concepts. You will be instrumental in escalating complex issues to senior engineers and ensuring clear, concise communication throughout the incident lifecycle. Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively monitor network infrastructure, servers, and applications using various monitoring tools to detect and prevent outages.
  • Respond promptly to network and system alerts, performing initial diagnosis and troubleshooting to identify root causes.
  • Perform incident management, including logging, tracking, and escalating issues to appropriate support teams or senior engineers.
  • Implement routine network maintenance tasks, configuration changes, and software updates as per defined procedures.
  • Document all incidents, resolutions, and system changes thoroughly and accurately in the ticketing system and knowledge base.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, development, and support teams to resolve complex technical issues and implement improvements.
  • Ensure adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and operational best practices.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation schedule to provide 24/7 support as required.
  • Provide first-line support for various network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.

Required Skills

  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP), and switching technologies.
  • Demonstrable experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, PRTG, SolarWinds).
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting network connectivity and performance issues.
  • Familiarity with Linux/Unix command-line interface for system checks and basic administration.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for technical documentation and team collaboration.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced, incident-driven environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with keen attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
  • Relevant industry certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or JNCIA-Junos.
  • Experience with ITIL frameworks and practices for service operation and incident management.
  • Basic scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation and task efficiency.
  • Knowledge of firewall configuration and security principles (e.g., Fortinet, Cisco ASA, Palo Alto).
  • Familiarity with cloud networking concepts (AWS, Azure, GCP).
