In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the stability, performance, and security of our diverse network infrastructure, supporting our internal operations and external clients. As a Network Support Engineer at Career.zycto, you will be the first point of contact for complex network-related issues, ranging from routing and switching problems to firewall configurations and VPN connectivity challenges. Your day will involve both reactive troubleshooting to minimize downtime and proactive monitoring to prevent issues before they impact services. We operate in a fast-paced, technologically advanced environment, utilizing a range of Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, and Palo Alto equipment. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced troubleshooting and resolution for network-related incidents and problems (LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, Firewalls).
  • Monitor network performance and availability, identifying and addressing potential issues proactively.
  • Implement network changes, upgrades, and configurations in accordance with established change management procedures.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams (Systems, Security, Development) to ensure seamless integration and operation of services.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of network topologies, configurations, and processes.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support for critical network infrastructure.
  • Evaluate and recommend new network technologies and solutions to improve efficiency and security.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of new network projects and infrastructure expansions.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members and end-users when required.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in network support or engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP), and switching technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco and/or Juniper network devices (routers, switches).
  • Proficiency in firewall management, particularly Fortinet or Palo Alto Networks.
  • Experience with VPN technologies (IPsec, SSL VPN).
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Zabbix).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose complex network issues.
  • Fluent written and spoken English communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, or equivalent.
  • Experience with cloud networking concepts (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash) for network automation.
  • Knowledge of ITIL frameworks and practices.
  • Proficiency in the German language (B2 level or higher).
