Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and skilled Network Technician to join our vibrant team in Discovery Bay, Saint Ann Parish. This full-time, on-site role is pivotal in maintaining the integrity and performance of our local network infrastructure. Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices.
  • Provide first and second-level technical support for network-related issues, resolving incidents in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Perform routine network monitoring, analysis, and performance tuning to ensure optimal network health and uptime.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on network infrastructure to identify and address potential issues before they impact operations.
  • Implement and enforce network security policies and procedures to protect against unauthorized access and data breaches.
  • Assist in the deployment of new network technologies and upgrades, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for knowledge base and reference.
  • Collaborate with other IT team members and departments to support business objectives and resolve inter-departmental technical issues.
  • Provide training and technical guidance to end-users on network-related tools and best practices.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
  • Experience with LAN/WAN networking, routing, and switching.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities for network issues.
  • Familiarity with network security principles and basic firewall configurations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for user support.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various on-site locations within the region as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CompTIA Network+ or CCNA certification.
  • Experience with Wi-Fi network deployments and management.
  • Knowledge of cloud networking concepts (AWS, Azure).
  • Prior experience in a technical support or helpdesk role.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
