Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily news cycle, including assigning stories to reporters and ensuring timely delivery.
  • Develop compelling headlines and engaging intros to maximize reader interest and SEO performance.
  • Ensure all content adheres to ethical journalistic standards, legal guidelines, and company style guides.
  • Collaborate with writers, photographers, and multimedia specialists to enhance story presentation.
  • Monitor news trends, current events, and competitor coverage to identify new story opportunities.
  • Provide constructive feedback and mentorship to junior journalists and content creators.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a news editing role, preferably in a digital media environment.
  • Exceptional command of the English language, including grammar, syntax, and journalistic style.
  • Proven ability to fact-check, research, and verify information accurately under tight deadlines.
  • Strong understanding of SEO best practices for news content.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and collaborate effectively.
