Job Description

Are you a skilled and compassionate driver with a profound sense of responsibility and a desire to contribute to meaningful humanitarian efforts? Career.zycto is actively seeking a dedicated NGO Driver – Logistics & Field to support the vital operations of a prominent non-governmental organisation based in Leeds. This isn’t just a driving job; it’s a crucial role at the forefront of delivering essential resources, ensuring the safe transport of staff, and facilitating critical field activities that directly impact communities in need.

In this dynamic position, you will be instrumental in the logistical backbone of our client’s operations. Your daily tasks will range from managing the secure transportation of goods, equipment, and sensitive documents to providing safe and reliable transport for project staff to various field locations, often under varying road and weather conditions. Meticulous planning, adherence to safety protocols, and proactive vehicle maintenance will be paramount to your success. You will be expected to maintain accurate logbooks, conduct pre-and post-trip inspections, and ensure all vehicle documentation is up-to-date and compliant with regulations. Ensuring the cleanliness and operational readiness of all assigned vehicles is a continuous responsibility, reflecting our commitment to safety and efficiency.

Beyond the wheel, you will be a vital link between the office and the field, often acting as the first point of contact for external partners or beneficiaries. Your professionalism, calm demeanour, and problem-solving abilities will be essential in navigating unexpected challenges, such as route changes or vehicle issues, with minimal disruption. Effective communication with the logistics coordinator, field teams, and administrative staff is key to ensuring seamless operations. You will also assist with basic loading and unloading duties as required, demonstrating a flexible and hands-on approach to logistics support. This role requires more than just excellent driving skills; it demands a keen awareness of the NGO’s mission, a commitment to upholding its values, and an ability to work collaboratively within a diverse team. If you thrive in an environment where your skills directly translate into tangible support for humanitarian causes and are looking for a role where your dedication truly makes a difference, we encourage you to apply and become a part of an organisation that genuinely improves lives.
