Job Description
World Vision Zambia is seeking a dedicated and dynamic NGO Field Support Worker to join our passionate team in Shumba, Pemba North. This vital role is at the forefront of our community-based programs, ensuring the effective implementation and smooth operation of our initiatives designed to uplift vulnerable populations. The Field Support Worker acts as a critical link between our organization and the communities we serve, playing an instrumental role in program delivery, community mobilization, and data collection. You will work closely with community leaders, beneficiaries, and project staff to facilitate activities, gather feedback, and provide essential logistical and administrative support on the ground. This position demands a proactive individual with strong interpersonal skills, a deep understanding of community dynamics, and a profound passion for humanitarian work. You will be responsible for day-to-day coordination of field activities, supporting various projects ranging from health and nutrition to education and WASH. Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate the smooth implementation of community-based project activities as per work plans and organizational standards.
- Mobilize community members, local leaders, and other stakeholders for program participation, workshops, and training sessions.
- Conduct regular field visits to project sites, monitoring progress, identifying challenges, and reporting opportunities for improvement.
- Assist in the systematic collection of relevant program data, surveys, and beneficiary feedback, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely submission.
- Provide essential logistical and administrative support for field events, including coordinating resources, materials, venues, and participants.
- Act as a primary point of contact for community members, addressing inquiries, concerns, and feedback with empathy, respect, and professionalism.
- Document field activities, success stories, case studies, and lessons learned for internal reporting, external communication, and organizational learning.
- Support the distribution of relief items or program materials to beneficiaries, maintaining meticulous records and ensuring accountability.
- Collaborate effectively with other World Vision staff, partner organizations, and local government stakeholders to achieve overarching program objectives.
- Promote World Vision’s core values, humanitarian principles, and child protection policies within the community and among beneficiaries.
- Participate in team meetings, planning sessions, and capacity-building workshops as required.
- Ensure all activities adhere to safety protocols and local regulations.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated ability to engage and communicate effectively and respectfully with diverse community members, including vulnerable groups.
- Strong organizational skills and proven ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a dynamic field environment.
- Proficiency in local languages relevant to Pemba North (e.g., Tonga, Bemba, Nyanja) and excellent English communication skills (written and verbal).
- Basic computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- A proactive and adaptable problem-solving attitude with the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

- Ability to work effectively in challenging rural environments and adapt to changing conditions and schedules.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or Certificate in Community Development, Social Work, Public Health, Education, or a closely related field.
- At least 1-2 years of proven experience in community mobilization, project implementation, or field support roles, preferably within an NGO setting.
- Knowledge of specific development sectors such as Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH), Health & Nutrition, Livelihoods, or Education.
- Familiarity with data collection tools and methodologies (e.g., ODK, KoboToolbox).
- Valid motorcycle driving license with proven riding experience in rural areas.
