Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the night care team, ensuring all care duties are performed to the highest standard.
- Oversee the implementation and review of individualised care plans, adapting them as necessary to meet changing resident needs.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all overnight emergencies, making informed decisions and escalating concerns when appropriate.
- Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to care assistants, fostering a positive and collaborative team environment.
- Conduct regular welfare checks on residents throughout the night, ensuring their comfort, safety, and dignity.
- Maintain accurate and confidential resident records, including daily logs, incident reports, and medication administration records.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies, promoting best practices in care.
- Facilitate effective communication and handovers between night and day shifts, ensuring continuity of care.
Required Skills
- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent)
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within a care setting (e.g., residential home, nursing home)
- Strong leadership and team management abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in administering medication and maintaining accurate records
- Ability to make critical decisions calmly and effectively under pressure
