Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and assistance to residents, including toileting, repositioning, and mobility support, as needed throughout the night.
- Conduct regular welfare checks on residents, ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Respond promptly and compassionately to resident call bells and requests.
- Document care provided, observations, and any significant changes in residents' condition accurately and thoroughly.
- Assist residents with medication reminders in accordance with established protocols.
- Perform light housekeeping duties and ensure the care environment remains clean and organized.
- Communicate effectively with day staff during handover, providing comprehensive updates.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents during the night.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a caregiving role, ideally in a residential or elderly care setting.
- Strong empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable individuals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic, especially for night shifts.
- Basic first aid and CPR certification.
- Physical ability to assist residents with mobility and perform required duties.
Preferred Qualifications
- Care Aide certification or equivalent healthcare training.
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Knowledge of common age-related conditions and dementia care.
- Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) training.
