Job Description
Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and thorough Night Cleaner to join our team in Sheridan, Mississauga. This is an essential full-time, night shift position responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of our client’s premises, which may include commercial offices, retail spaces, or industrial facilities. As a Night Cleaner, you will play a critical role in maintaining a hygienic, safe, and welcoming environment for employees and visitors. Your ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and uphold high standards of cleanliness will be key to your success. This role involves performing a variety of cleaning tasks, from vacuuming and mopping floors to disinfecting surfaces and emptying waste bins, all while adhering strictly to established safety protocols and cleaning schedules. Key Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning tasks such as dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and waste removal in assigned areas.
- Clean and sanitize washrooms, kitchenettes, and other common areas thoroughly, ensuring high hygiene standards.
- Empty and clean waste receptacles and transport waste to designated disposal areas in accordance with waste management policies.
- Restock supplies in washrooms, kitchen areas, and other designated locations as needed.
- Operate and maintain cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and other specialized machinery, safely and effectively.
- Follow all health and safety regulations and company policies, including proper use and storage of cleaning chemicals and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Report any maintenance issues, damages, or safety hazards observed during shifts to the supervisor promptly.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and communicate replenishment needs to ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Ensure all assigned areas are secured and locked upon completion of the shift, if required.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial services (minimum 6 months).
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage time effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, supplies, and their safe and appropriate use.
- Physical stamina and mobility to perform duties such as bending, lifting (up to 25 lbs), and standing for extended periods.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills to complete tasks efficiently.
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong work ethic.
- Basic understanding of health and safety regulations pertinent to cleaning operations.
