Your primary responsibility will involve operating a company vehicle to transport various goods, packages, or materials to designated locations throughout Winnipeg and surrounding areas. This includes carefully loading and unloading your vehicle, performing routine vehicle inspections, and meticulously documenting delivery information. Attention to detail is paramount, as you will be responsible for verifying contents against shipping invoices, obtaining signatures, and handling any discrepancies with professionalism. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a company vehicle for night-time delivery routes within Winnipeg and surrounding regions.
- Efficiently load and unload goods, ensuring secure transit and proper handling of all items.
- Verify contents of shipments against invoices, obtaining necessary signatures and documentation.
- Adhere strictly to assigned delivery schedules and routes, managing time effectively to meet deadlines.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle and work environment.
- Comply with all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations at all times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding delays, issues, or completion of deliveries.
- Handle unexpected situations or route changes with professionalism and adaptability.
Required Skills
- Valid Class 5 Manitoba Driver's License (or equivalent).
- Clean driving record (abstract required).
- Proven experience in a delivery or courier role, preferably night shifts.
- Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Strong geographical knowledge of Winnipeg and surrounding areas.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- High degree of reliability and punctuality.
