Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular welfare checks on residents throughout the night to ensure their safety and well-being.
- Provide discreet and respectful assistance with personal care needs as required, maintaining resident dignity.
- Monitor facility premises and resident common areas to maintain a secure and orderly environment.
- Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies, incidents, or resident requests, escalating issues to senior staff when necessary.
- Administer prescribed medication in accordance with established policies and training.
- Complete accurate and timely incident reports, daily logs, and other required documentation.
- Maintain a calm and reassuring presence, offering emotional support to residents experiencing distress or anxiety.
- Assist with light housekeeping duties or preparation for the morning shift as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
- Collaborate effectively with the morning shift team for seamless handover of information and care.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a care or residential support role, ideally within a night shift setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and patient approach.
- Ability to remain vigilant and attentive during overnight hours.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and sound judgment in emergency situations.
- Proficiency in written documentation and report writing.
- Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or willingness to obtain).
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care, or equivalent qualification.
