Career.zycto is actively seeking a diligent and dependable Night Shift Watchman to join our client’s dedicated security team in Thome, Nairobi. This critical role involves safeguarding premises, assets, and personnel during nocturnal hours, ensuring a secure and undisturbed environment. As a Night Shift Watchman, you will be the vigilant eyes and ears, responsible for maintaining perimeter security, monitoring surveillance systems, and promptly responding to any suspicious activities or incidents. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of the premises, inside and outside, during the assigned night shift hours.
- Monitor CCTV cameras and alarm systems, reporting any irregularities immediately to supervisors.
- Control access to the property, verifying identification and logging visitors/vehicles as required.
- Respond promptly and effectively to alarms, emergencies, and security breaches according to established protocols.
- Maintain detailed daily logs of activities, incidents, and observations made during the shift.
- Ensure all entry and exit points are securely locked and proper closing procedures are followed.
- Report any maintenance issues, hazards, or suspicious items discovered during patrols.
- Collaborate with daytime security personnel for seamless handover of duties and critical information.
- Enforce company security policies and procedures to prevent losses and ensure a safe environment.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Watchman or Security Guard, preferably in a night shift role.
- Basic knowledge of security procedures and protocols, including emergency response.
- Ability to operate surveillance equipment (CCTV) and alarm systems.
- Excellent observational and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- High level of integrity, reliability, and professionalism.
- Physical fitness and ability to stand/walk for extended periods and perform light manual tasks.
- A clean criminal record and valid national identification documents.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid security guard license from a recognized authority in Kenya.
- Prior experience in a commercial, industrial, or residential security setting.
- Fluency in both English and Kiswahili.
- Basic first aid and fire safety knowledge.
- High school diploma or Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) equivalent.
