Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our General and Ward Service team in The Arboretum, Nottingham. Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients within the general ward setting.
- Administer medications safely and accurately, adhering to national and local guidelines.
- Monitor patients' vital signs, record observations, and identify changes in patient condition, escalating concerns appropriately.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in line with professional and organisational standards.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including doctors, therapists, and support staff, to ensure holistic patient care.
- Provide clear and concise information to patients and their families, offering support and addressing concerns.
- Assist with patient admissions, discharges, and transfers, ensuring seamless transitions of care.
- Ensure a safe and clean environment for patients, adhering to infection control policies and procedures.
- Participate in ward rounds, contributing to care discussions and decisions.
- Act as a mentor and role model for junior staff and student nurses.
- Engage in continuous professional development, staying updated with nursing best practices and clinical advancements.
Required Skills
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
- Minimum of 18 months post-registration experience in an acute hospital ward setting
- Proven ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making abilities
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Proficiency in administering medications and performing clinical procedures
- Commitment to patient safety and quality improvement
- Basic IT skills for electronic patient records
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Nursing (BSc or equivalent)
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification
- Experience with electronic health record systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
- Specialist training in areas such as wound care, IV therapy, or cannulation
- Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD) activities
