Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our General and Ward Service team in The Arboretum, Nottingham. Key Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients within the general ward setting.
  • Administer medications safely and accurately, adhering to national and local guidelines.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs, record observations, and identify changes in patient condition, escalating concerns appropriately.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in line with professional and organisational standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including doctors, therapists, and support staff, to ensure holistic patient care.
  • Provide clear and concise information to patients and their families, offering support and addressing concerns.
  • Assist with patient admissions, discharges, and transfers, ensuring seamless transitions of care.
  • Ensure a safe and clean environment for patients, adhering to infection control policies and procedures.
  • Participate in ward rounds, contributing to care discussions and decisions.
  • Act as a mentor and role model for junior staff and student nurses.
  • Engage in continuous professional development, staying updated with nursing best practices and clinical advancements.

Required Skills

  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
  • Minimum of 18 months post-registration experience in an acute hospital ward setting
  • Proven ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Proficiency in administering medications and performing clinical procedures
  • Commitment to patient safety and quality improvement
  • Basic IT skills for electronic patient records

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Nursing (BSc or equivalent)
  • Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification
  • Experience with electronic health record systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
  • Specialist training in areas such as wound care, IV therapy, or cannulation
  • Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD) activities
