Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients on general medical and surgical wards.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, develop, and implement individualized care plans.
- Administer medications safely and accurately, adhering to national and local guidelines.
- Monitor and record vital signs, document patient progress, and report changes to the medical team.
- Perform various nursing procedures, including wound care, catheterization, and IV management.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including doctors, therapists, and other nurses.
- Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and organized ward environment, adhering to infection control protocols.
- Act as a patient advocate, ensuring dignity, respect, and confidentiality are maintained at all times.
- Participate in ward meetings, audits, and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Required Skills
- Valid NMC registration (Registered Nurse).
- Minimum of 2 years post-registration experience in a general medical or surgical ward setting.
- Proven ability to conduct comprehensive patient assessments and formulate care plans.
- Proficiency in medication administration, wound care, and basic life support (BLS).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team-working skills.
