Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, accurately documenting all actions.
  • Monitor and record patient vital signs, symptoms, and medical information, reporting changes to the medical team.
  • Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatment plans, and self-care practices.
  • Assist physicians with medical procedures and examinations.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to medical emergencies, providing life support as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in accordance with hospital policies and legal requirements.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
  • Adhere to all infection control protocols and safety guidelines.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training sessions.

Required Skills

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from a recognized institution.
  • Valid current registration and practicing license with the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK).
  • Minimum of 2 years of post-registration clinical experience.
  • Proficiency in clinical assessment, patient monitoring, and medication administration.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centered approach.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
  • High level of empathy, compassion, and professionalism.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced certifications such as BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support).
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
  • Specialized experience in areas like Critical Care, Emergency Medicine, Paediatrics, or Oncology.
  • Participation in continuous medical education (CME) programs.
