Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive and compassionate nursing care to assigned patients on the hospital ward.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, develop individualized care plans, and evaluate patient responses to interventions.
- Administer medications safely and accurately, monitor for adverse reactions, and educate patients/families on drug regimens.
- Perform wound care, IV insertion, catheterization, and other clinical procedures with precision and adherence to protocols.
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records, ensuring all patient data is meticulously documented.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
- Respond promptly and effectively to medical emergencies, demonstrating strong critical thinking and decisive action.
- Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
- Supervise and mentor junior nursing staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence.
- Adhere strictly to all hospital policies, procedures, and national healthcare regulations.
Required Skills
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in Jamaica (or eligibility for licensure).
- Minimum of 2 years of post-registration experience in a hospital ward setting (medical-surgical, acute care, or similar).
- Demonstrated proficiency in clinical assessment, critical care interventions, and emergency response.
- Strong knowledge of medication administration, wound care management, and infection control protocols.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team collaboration skills.

- CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
