Job Description
Hospital Rural de Vilankulo is actively seeking a compassionate and dedicated Full-Time Nursing Assistant to enrich our healthcare team in Pambara, Vilankulo. Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, and safe mobility.
- Monitor and accurately record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure) and promptly report any significant changes to the nursing staff.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment, ensuring patient comfort and hygiene at all times.
- Assist with patient transfers, positioning, and ambulation using appropriate techniques and equipment to prevent injury.
- Support nurses and doctors during medical examinations, treatments, and various patient care procedures.
- Distribute and collect patient meals, assist with feeding, and monitor dietary intake as instructed by nursing staff.
- Collect specimens (e.g., urine, stool) as directed, ensuring proper labeling and timely transportation to the laboratory.
- Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families, addressing concerns and answering basic questions within the scope of practice.
- Document patient care activities, observations, and vital signs accurately and in a timely manner in patient records.
- Adhere strictly to all infection control policies, safety protocols, and patient confidentiality standards (e.g., medical ethics, data privacy).
- Collaborate effectively with the entire healthcare team, actively participating in shift reports and communicating patient status updates.
- Restock medical supplies and ensure all medical equipment is clean, functional, and readily available for use.
Required Skills
- Completion of a recognized Nursing Assistant or Auxiliary Nursing training program.
- Demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to provide compassionate and patient-centered care.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and patient care procedures.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform duties that require lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
