Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments for individuals across various age groups and diagnoses.
- Develop, implement, and review individualized therapy plans based on client needs, goals, and evidence-based practice.
- Provide direct therapeutic interventions, including functional retraining, adaptive equipment prescription, environmental modifications, and cognitive rehabilitation.
- Educate clients, families, and caregivers on therapeutic techniques, compensatory strategies, and disease management.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, physiotherapists, speech therapists, and social workers.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential client records in accordance with professional and organizational standards.
- Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and professional development activities to enhance clinical skills and service quality.
- Contribute to service improvement initiatives and uphold the highest standards of professional conduct and ethical practice.
Required Skills
- BSc or MSc in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
- Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Demonstrated experience in conducting occupational therapy assessments and delivering interventions.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and report-writing skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage a diverse caseload effectively.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and evidence-based practice.
- Proficiency in using clinical assessment tools and therapeutic techniques.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-graduate experience in a relevant clinical setting (e.g., community, acute care, rehabilitation, mental health).
- Experience with specific client groups (e.g., paediatrics, neurological rehabilitation, older adults).
- Knowledge of local health and social care pathways and resources in Northern Ireland.
- Full UK driving license and access to a car for potential community visits.
