Job Description

Based at our active Imara Daima, Nairobi location, this is a pivotal full-time role designed to ensure the seamless and confidential movement of critical documents, sensitive parcels, and essential communications. The successful candidate will play an indispensable part in connecting our offices with clients, partners, and various governmental and private stakeholders across the sprawling city of Nairobi. Key Responsibilities

  • Execute timely and secure pick-up and delivery of a wide range of documents, confidential parcels, inter-office mail, and other essential items to various designated locations throughout Nairobi, strictly adhering to scheduled timelines.
  • Meticulously maintain comprehensive and accurate records of all incoming and outgoing deliveries, including detailed logs, recipient signatures, and precise timestamps for audit and tracking purposes.
  • Uphold the highest standards of confidentiality and integrity for all delivered items, especially those containing sensitive company or client information, ensuring they reach the intended recipient without compromise.
  • Proactively plan and optimize efficient delivery routes to maximize productivity, minimize travel time, and conserve company resources, adapting to changing traffic conditions or urgent requests.
  • Provide diligent assistance with general office errands, which may include banking transactions, the procurement of office supplies, postal services, and other supportive tasks as directed by management.
  • Efficiently handle and dispatch company mail, ensuring proper sorting, franking, and accurate addressing for prompt delivery.
  • Ensure the messenger station, delivery bags, and any associated equipment are consistently clean, organized, and well-maintained to facilitate smooth operations.
  • Strictly adhere to all company policies, safety regulations, and local traffic laws to ensure personal safety and the security of company assets.
  • Maintain clear, professional, and effective communication with internal staff, clients, and external contacts regarding the status of deliveries, potential delays, or any encountered issues, providing proactive updates.

Required Skills

  • Excellent knowledge of Nairobi’s geographical layout and routes, particularly within Imara Daima and surrounding areas.
  • Proven ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of reliability, punctuality, and a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Basic literacy skills (ability to read, write, and understand delivery instructions and complete forms).
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills for professional interaction.
  • Physical fitness and ability to lift and carry packages (up to 15kg) comfortably.
  • A valid Kenyan National ID.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of proven experience in a similar messenger or document delivery role.
  • Experience using GPS navigation tools or mobile mapping applications.
  • A valid Class B (motorcycle) or Class BCE (car) driving license is an added advantage.
