Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on oil and gas production, processing, and distribution equipment.
  • Install, calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
  • Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostic tests to identify and resolve operational issues.
  • Operate and maintain specialized tools and equipment used in oil and gas field operations.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, company policies, and environmental guidelines (e.g., ATEX, DGUV).
  • Prepare detailed reports, service logs, and documentation for all maintenance and repair activities.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to optimize system performance and efficiency.
  • Participate in emergency response and on-call rotations as required.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior technicians and operational staff.
  • Manage inventory of parts and equipment, ensuring availability for scheduled and unscheduled work.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Field Technician in the oil and gas or heavy industrial sector.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing complex mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
  • Excellent understanding of safety protocols and regulations pertinent to the oil and gas industry.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various field sites.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in challenging environments.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in English and German.
  • Physical fitness and ability to perform demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
  • Proficiency with standard office software (MS Office Suite) for reporting and documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant vocational training or technical degree in mechanics, electrical engineering, or industrial technology.
  • Certifications in specific industry equipment (e.g., pressure systems, confined space entry, working at heights).
  • Experience with SCADA systems, PLCs, and industrial automation.
  • Knowledge of German industrial safety standards (e.g., BetrSichV, WHG).
  • Previous experience working with hazardous materials and in ATEX environments.
