Career.zycto is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Oil & Gas Field Technician to join our partners’ operations in the bustling energy hub of Erlangen, Bavaria. This full-time, on-site role is pivotal in ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable functioning of essential oil and gas field equipment and systems. As a Field Technician, you will be the frontline expert, responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of a diverse range of machinery, instrumentation, and control systems crucial to extraction, processing, and transportation activities.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on various oil and gas field equipment, including pumps, compressors, valves, pipelines, and drilling apparatus.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues, implementing effective repair solutions promptly.
- Install and commission new equipment, ensuring proper calibration and integration with existing systems.
- Conduct thorough inspections to identify potential hazards, operational inefficiencies, or equipment malfunctions.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, company policies, and environmental guidelines, promoting a culture of safety.
- Prepare detailed service reports, maintenance logs, and inventory records using digital and manual systems.
- Collaborate with engineers, operators, and other technicians to optimize field operations and improve equipment reliability.
- Participate in on-call rotations and emergency response as required, demonstrating readiness to address critical issues.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior technicians and operational staff when necessary.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Field Technician in the oil and gas industry or a related heavy industrial sector.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with expertise in hydraulics, pneumatics, and rotating equipment.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing complex electrical and instrumentation systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make critical decisions under pressure.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety standards and practices (e.g., Lockout/Tagout, confined space entry).
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various field locations.
- Proficient communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications
- Vocational degree or certification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience with SCADA systems, PLCs, and other control systems.
- Certifications in specific equipment operation, safety training (e.g., BOSIET, H2S Alive), or advanced troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in German language skills is a significant advantage.
- Familiarity with German industrial safety regulations and environmental standards.
