Key Responsibilities
- Assist head cooks and chefs with food preparation tasks, including washing, chopping, slicing, and portioning ingredients.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, ensuring all surfaces and equipment are sanitized regularly.
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and notify the culinary team of any shortages.
- Properly store food items in designated areas, adhering to FIFO (First-In, First-Out) principles.
- Operate basic kitchen equipment safely and efficiently (e.g., blenders, food processors, slicers).
- Adhere strictly to all food safety and hygiene regulations, including proper handling and temperature control.
- Assist with receiving and stocking deliveries, ensuring accuracy and quality control.
- Support dishwashing duties and general kitchen clean-up at the end of shifts.
- Follow recipes and instructions accurately to ensure consistency in food quality and presentation.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely meal service.
