Key Responsibilities
- Sort and categorize soiled laundry, including linens, towels, and uniforms, according to material, color, and cleaning instructions.
- Operate commercial washing machines, dryers, and pressing equipment safely and efficiently, adhering to manufacturer guidelines.
- Load and unload laundry, ensuring proper settings and detergents are used for different fabric types and stain levels.
- Fold, iron, and organize clean laundry, preparing items for distribution or storage with meticulous attention to detail.
- Inspect items for stains, damage, or wear and tear, reporting any issues to the supervisor for appropriate action.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laundry area, including regular cleaning of machines and workspace.
- Monitor laundry supplies and inventory, reporting needs for replenishment to ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and hygiene standards and regulations.
- Perform minor maintenance or troubleshooting on laundry equipment when necessary, or report larger issues promptly.
Required Skills
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly throughout the shift.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
