Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and experienced On-site Maintenance Worker to join our operations in Opelika, Alabama. In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal functioning, safety, and aesthetic appeal of our facility. You will be the backbone of our operational stability, performing a wide range of maintenance tasks from routine inspections and preventative maintenance to urgent repairs across various systems including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general structural components. Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on facility equipment and systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, etc.) to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Conduct timely and effective repairs on equipment, machinery, and building infrastructure as needed, diagnosing issues and implementing appropriate solutions.
- Respond to maintenance requests and emergency calls, troubleshooting problems efficiently and minimizing downtime.
- Complete general carpentry, painting, and plastering tasks to maintain the facility's appearance and structural integrity.
- Inspect and maintain building systems, including fire suppression systems, security systems, and emergency generators, in accordance with safety regulations.
- Manage inventory of tools, equipment, and spare parts, ensuring adequate stock levels for ongoing maintenance activities.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and parts used.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, company policies, and local regulations while performing duties.
- Assist with facility renovations, installations, and other projects as assigned.
- Ensure exterior grounds and parking areas are well-maintained, including minor landscaping or snow removal as necessary.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in facility maintenance or a similar hands-on role.
- Solid understanding of general maintenance procedures and techniques.
- Proficiency in basic electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems troubleshooting and repair.
- Competency in using a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
- Excellent physical condition and stamina, with the ability to lift heavy objects and work in various conditions.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED; vocational training or relevant certifications (e.g., HVAC, electrical) highly preferred.
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification.
- Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Prior experience working in a commercial or industrial facility setting.
