Key Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for painting, including scraping, sanding, patching, and cleaning to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
- Apply paint, varnish, stain, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, and sprayers with precision.
- Mix and match paint colors, ensuring consistency and adherence to project specifications and client preferences.
- Set up scaffolding or ladders to access elevated areas safely and efficiently.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Protect adjacent surfaces and furniture with drop cloths and masking tape to prevent damage and overspray.
- Inspect painted surfaces for defects and perform touch-ups or repairs as needed to ensure a flawless finish.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, properly storing tools, equipment, and disposing of materials responsibly.
- Communicate effectively with project managers and other team members regarding project progress, challenges, and material needs.
- Estimate material and time requirements for jobs accurately to support project planning.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 2 years) as a painter in a construction or commercial setting.
- Excellent knowledge of painting material quality, proper storage, and application techniques.
- Proficiency in operating various painting tools and equipment, including brushes, rollers, airless sprayers, and sanders.
- Solid understanding of health and safety regulations and practices in construction environments.

- Physical stamina and ability to perform duties requiring bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
