This role is crucial for maintaining the safety and security of our client’s premises, assets, and personnel. As an On-site Security Guard, you will be the vigilant eyes and ears, acting as the first line of defense against potential threats and ensuring a secure, orderly environment. Key Responsibilities
- Patrol designated areas regularly to prevent and detect signs of intrusion, secure doors, windows, and gates.
- Monitor surveillance equipment, inspect buildings, equipment, and access points.
- Control access to the premises, verifying identification and issuing visitor badges as per protocol.
- Respond to alarms, investigate disturbances, and contact emergency services when necessary.
- Write comprehensive reports on daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
- Enforce company policies and procedures to ensure a safe and compliant environment.
- De-escalate situations and manage conflicts calmly and professionally.
- Provide assistance to employees and visitors in a courteous and helpful manner.
- Conduct thorough inspections of facilities and grounds, identifying and reporting safety hazards.
- Maintain a visible presence to deter criminal activity and ensure a sense of security.
Required Skills
- Valid California Guard Card (BSIS Certification)
- Proven experience as a Security Guard or relevant position (minimum 1 year)
- Excellent observation and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong ethical conduct and integrity
- Ability to operate detection equipment and emergency systems
- Physical capability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods, and lift up to 25 lbs
- Basic computer proficiency for report writing and surveillance monitoring
- First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED; advanced education in criminal justice or a related field is a plus
- Prior experience in corporate security or a similar on-site role
- Proficiency in using security software and CCTV systems
