Key Responsibilities
- Deliver personalized, online instruction to students in designated subjects (e.g., Math, Reading, Writing, Study Skills).
- Administer and interpret diagnostic assessments to identify student strengths and areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement individualized learning plans based on Sylvan's curriculum and student needs.
- Monitor student progress, adjust teaching strategies as necessary, and provide regular feedback to students and parents.
- Foster a positive, engaging, and encouraging virtual learning environment.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and performance.
- Communicate effectively with center directors and parents regarding student academic goals and achievements.
- Stay current with Sylvan's instructional methods and technological tools for online delivery.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Proficiency in core academic subjects such as Math, Reading, or Writing (K-12)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with students of all ages
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for teaching and helping students succeed
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in an online setting
- Reliable internet access and a suitable home workspace for online instruction
Preferred Qualifications
- State teaching certification or licensure
- Previous experience in tutoring, teaching, or academic coaching (online preferred)
- Familiarity with various online learning platforms and educational technologies
- Specialization in advanced subjects (e.g., Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, Chemistry, Biology)
- Master's Degree in Education or a related field
