Job Description

Redstone Federal Credit Union is seeking a dedicated and experienced Online Loan Processor to join our dynamic team. This is a fully remote, work-from-home opportunity, allowing you to contribute to our mission from the comfort of your home office while making a significant impact on our members’ financial well-being.
In this role, you will be instrumental in the loan application process, responsible for gathering and verifying all necessary documentation for mortgage and consumer loans. You will serve as a crucial liaison between loan officers, members, and third-party vendors, ensuring a smooth, efficient, and compliant processing experience. Your expertise in reviewing credit reports, income statements, asset documentation, and property appraisals will be critical in preparing loan files for underwriting. Key Responsibilities
- Manage a pipeline of mortgage and consumer loan applications from submission through closing, ensuring all stages are completed efficiently and accurately.
- Review and verify all loan documentation, including credit reports, income, asset, and employment verification, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and RFCU guidelines.
- Communicate regularly with loan officers, members, and third parties (e.g., appraisers, title companies) to obtain necessary information and provide status updates.
- Order and review third-party reports, such as appraisals, title commitments, and flood certifications.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies or issues in loan files promptly, escalating complex situations to the appropriate personnel.
- Ensure all loan files are complete, accurate, and properly documented prior to submission to underwriting.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all relevant lending regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Provide exceptional member service, addressing inquiries and concerns with professionalism and efficiency.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in loan processing (mortgage and/or consumer loans)
- Proficiency with loan origination software (LOS) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Thorough understanding of lending regulations (e.g., TRID, RESPA, HMDA)
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
- High-speed internet access and a dedicated home office workspace.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience with Encompass LOS.
- NMLS registration (for mortgage-specific processing roles).
- Previous experience in a credit union or banking environment.
