Job Description
Are you a compassionate and licensed mental health professional seeking a meaningful opportunity to provide care from the comfort of your home? Sound is actively seeking a dedicated Online Mental Health Counselor to join our innovative telehealth team. In this remote-first role, you will deliver high-quality, evidence-based mental health counseling services to individuals and families across Washington State, with a focus on clients residing in the Tacoma area. Leveraging secure telecommunication platforms, you will conduct assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and provide ongoing therapy to address a broad spectrum of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and stress-related disorders.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide remote mental health counseling services to individuals, groups, and families via secure telehealth platforms.
- Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments to determine client needs and formulate accurate diagnoses.
- Develop and implement individualized, strengths-based treatment plans in collaboration with clients.
- Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care, and motivational interviewing.
- Monitor client progress, modify treatment plans as needed, and facilitate appropriate referrals to community resources.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential client records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and agency policies.
- Participate in regular clinical supervision, team meetings, and professional development activities.
- Adhere to all ethical guidelines and standards of practice for licensed mental health professionals in Washington State.
- Utilize electronic health records (EHR) systems proficiently for documentation and scheduling.
Required Skills
- Current Washington State licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
- Minimum of 2 years of post-licensure clinical experience in mental health counseling.
- Demonstrated experience in providing telehealth services.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and treating a wide range of mental health disorders.
- Strong understanding of ethical and legal guidelines related to mental health practice and telehealth.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively in a remote setting.
- Competency with electronic health records (EHR) systems and secure video conferencing platforms.
- Reliable internet connection and a private, confidential home office space.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with diverse client populations and cultural competence.
- Certifications or specialized training in specific therapeutic modalities (e.g., CBT, DBT, EMDR).
