Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer support to Shopify merchants via email, chat, and occasionally phone, addressing inquiries related to their online stores.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues with store setup, theme customization, app functionality, and general platform usage.
  • Educate merchants on Shopify features, best practices, and resources to help them optimize their online presence and sales.
  • Guide merchants through the process of setting up products, managing orders, configuring shipping, and processing payments.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to escalate complex issues and ensure timely resolution for merchants.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and solutions within our support systems.
  • Continuously learn about new Shopify features, apps, and e-commerce trends to provide up-to-date and relevant support.
  • Contribute to the creation and improvement of help documentation and internal knowledge bases.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a customer service or support role, preferably in a remote environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and patiently.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a methodical approach to troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with e-commerce platforms and online retail concepts.
  • Proficiency with common computer applications and ability to quickly learn new software.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others succeed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with the Shopify platform as a merchant, user, or support agent.
  • Understanding of basic HTML, CSS, or Liquid (Shopify's templating language).
  • Experience working with CRM or ticketing systems (e.g., Zendesk, Salesforce Service Cloud).
  • A passion for entrepreneurship and supporting small businesses.
  • Previous experience in a tech support or web-related customer service role.
