Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Optical Store Manager to lead the operations of a thriving optical practice in the heart of Manchester. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the practice, overseeing a dedicated team of Optometrists, Dispensing Opticians, and Optical Assistants. Your leadership will ensure the delivery of outstanding customer service, from initial welcome through to comprehensive eye examinations, accurate dispensing, and effective aftercare. You will manage inventory, implement merchandising strategies, and ensure the store adheres to all regulatory and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, including Optometrists, Dispensing Opticians, and Optical Assistants.
  • Drive sales and profitability through effective merchandising, promotional activities, and exceptional customer service.
  • Manage staff rostering, performance reviews, and recruitment processes.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, professional standards, and health & safety regulations.
  • Manage inventory, ordering, and stock control to optimize product availability and minimize loss.
  • Handle customer queries, complaints, and feedback professionally to ensure high levels of patient satisfaction.
  • Analyze sales data and market trends to develop and implement strategies for business growth.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting store environment.
  • Facilitate ongoing professional development and training for all team members.
  • Act as a brand ambassador, promoting the store's values and services within the local community.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in optical retail management or a similar managerial role.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities.
  • Strong understanding of optical products, services, and dispensing principles.
  • Proven ability to achieve sales targets and drive business growth.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in retail management software and point-of-sale systems.
