We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Optometrist to join a thriving independent practice located in the vibrant and charming area of Muswell Hill, North London. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations, including refractions, fundus examinations, and visual field tests.
- Diagnose and manage various ocular conditions, referring to ophthalmologists when necessary.
- Prescribe and dispense appropriate corrective lenses and contact lenses.
- Provide clear, professional advice to patients regarding their eye health and vision solutions.
- Maintain accurate patient records and adhere to all professional and ethical guidelines.
- Collaborate effectively with dispensing opticians and optical assistants to ensure seamless patient care.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in optometry through continuous professional development.
Required Skills
- Registered with the General Optical Council (GOC)
- BSc (Hons) in Optometry or equivalent
- Proven experience in conducting comprehensive eye examinations
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving abilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patient-focused approach with a commitment to high-quality care
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
- Higher qualifications or specialisation in specific areas (e.g., therapeutics, low vision)
