Job Description
Are you an experienced, meticulous, and safety-conscious individual with a strong aptitude for hands-on, practical work? OK Zimbabwe is actively seeking a dedicated and skilled Outdoor Signage Installer to join our dynamic and growing team in Banket, Mashonaland West Province. In this pivotal and highly visible role, you will be directly responsible for the professional installation, ongoing maintenance, and timely repair of various types of outdoor signage across our diverse retail outlets, with a particular focus on our prominent Banket branch and its surrounding operational areas. This position mandates a robust understanding of advanced installation techniques, efficient material handling procedures, and an uncompromising adherence to stringent safety protocols at all times. You will be working with a diverse array of materials, including but not limited to, vinyl, acrylic, metal, and complex electrical components, ensuring that all installed signage is not only visually appealing and impactful but also securely mounted, structurally sound, and fully functional. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent problem-solving capabilities, a keen eye for aesthetic detail, and the ability to seamlessly work both independently and collaboratively as a vital part of a small, agile team. Key Responsibilities
- Install a wide variety of outdoor signs, including intricate illuminated signs, custom channel letters, robust monument signs, towering pylon signs, and various banners, strictly adhering to precise specifications and detailed blueprints.
- Rigorously prepare installation sites, meticulously ensuring structural integrity and proper, safe electrical connections where applicable.
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance, thorough cleaning, and efficient repairs on existing signage to ensure optimal functionality, pristine appearance, and extended lifespan.
- Operate a diverse range of power tools, hand tools, and heavy equipment (e.g., lifts, ladders) safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with operational guidelines.
- Adhere strictly to all national and company-specific safety regulations, established company policies, and industry best practices, especially when engaged in work at heights or handling electrical components.
- Thoroughly inspect all installed signs for quality, accuracy, and strict compliance with brand standards, local regulations, and permit requirements.
- Proactively troubleshoot and effectively resolve any issues related to sign functionality, structural integrity, or visual appearance.
- Meticulously manage and safely transport all necessary materials, equipment, and tools to and from job sites in an organized and secure manner.
- Collaborate effectively and harmoniously with other team members, store managers, and external contractors as and when required to ensure project success.
- Provide clear, concise, and timely communication regarding project status updates, potential delays, and all completed tasks to relevant stakeholders.
Required Skills
- Proven practical experience in outdoor signage installation and maintenance.
- Proficiency in accurately reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and installation manuals.
- Strong understanding of and strict adherence to safety protocols for working at heights and with electrical components.
- Demonstrated physical fitness and the ability to safely lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), confidently climb ladders, and effectively work in diverse weather conditions.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical troubleshooting abilities.
- Meticulous attention to detail and an unwavering commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- A valid driver's license with an impeccable driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Possession of a technical certificate or completion of vocational training in a directly related field (e.g., electrical, construction, welding).
- Prior experience with professional vinyl application and graphic installation techniques.
- In-depth knowledge of local building codes, zoning regulations, and the permitting processes related to signage installation.
