Key Responsibilities

  • Operate, monitor, and adjust various packaging machines and equipment, including fillers, labelers, cappers, and cartoners, following standard operating procedures.
  • Perform regular and thorough quality checks on packaged products, labels, seals, and overall presentation to ensure strict adherence to company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Load and unload raw materials and finished products onto packaging lines, including bottles, cans, labels, caps, and secondary packaging materials.
  • Conduct routine cleaning, sanitation, and basic preventative maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance, minimize downtime, and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and report any mechanical malfunctions, product defects, or potential safety hazards to supervisors promptly.
  • Strictly adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations (HSE, GMP) and company policies at all times.
  • Accurately complete production logs, quality control sheets, and other required documentation, ensuring proper record-keeping and traceability.
  • Collaborate effectively with production team members, supervisors, and quality control personnel to achieve daily production targets and foster a positive, productive work environment.
  • Assist in efficient changeovers between different product runs, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum line efficiency.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, implementing 5S principles where applicable.

Required Skills

  • Strong attention to detail and unwavering commitment to product quality and consistency.
  • Ability to operate and monitor machinery with precision and a good understanding of mechanical processes.
  • Good manual dexterity, physical stamina, and the ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 20kg, and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Basic understanding of safety procedures and the importance of a safe working environment in manufacturing.
  • High level of reliability, punctuality, and a strong, proactive work ethic.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a fast-paced, collaborative team.
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills for reading instructions, completing forms, and recording production data.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and adapt to changing production demands.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience (minimum 6 months) as a Packaging Operator or in a similar manufacturing/production role, preferably within the food, beverage, or FMCG industry.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and HACCP principles.
  • Forklift operator certification or experience operating other material handling equipment (a significant advantage).
  • Technical diploma or vocational training in mechanics, electronics, industrial maintenance, or a related technical field.
  • Experience with automated packaging systems and basic machine troubleshooting.
