Job Description

Career.zycto is actively seeking a diligent and dependable Packaging Operator to join one of our esteemed manufacturing clients in Winnipeg. This is an immediate hiring opportunity for an individual ready to step into a fast-paced production environment and play a crucial role in ensuring products are packaged efficiently and to the highest quality standards. As a Packaging Operator, you will be an integral part of the production line, responsible for the final presentation of various goods before they reach our customers. Your daily tasks will involve operating packaging machinery, conducting quality checks, and maintaining a clean and safe workspace.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor packaging machinery, ensuring correct settings and smooth operation.
  • Perform routine quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet company standards and specifications.
  • Load raw materials into packaging machines and monitor material levels.
  • Accurately complete production logs and documentation, including batch records and quality control forms.
  • Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and perform basic maintenance as needed.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and sanitation guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout the shift.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to optimize production efficiency and address any operational challenges.
  • Prepare products for shipment, including labeling, weighing, and palletizing.

Required Skills

  • Ability to read and understand English instructions and safety guidelines.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Basic mathematical skills for counting, weighing, and measuring.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience (6+ months) as a Packaging Operator or in a similar production role.
  • Experience operating various packaging equipment.
  • Familiarity with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) or HACCP principles.
  • Forklift certification or experience operating pallet jacks.
