Key Responsibilities
- Accurately pick and retrieve optical products and accessories from warehouse locations based on order requirements.
- Carefully pack items, ensuring proper protection and adherence to Optica's quality standards for safe transit.
- Verify product counts, item codes, and quality against picking lists and invoices before sealing packages.
- Prepare shipping labels, complete necessary documentation, and organize packages for outbound delivery routes.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all warehouse safety regulations and company policies.
- Assist with inventory counts, stock rotation, and general warehouse upkeep as needed.
- Report any discrepancies, damages, or quality issues to the warehouse supervisor promptly.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and other departments to ensure smooth operational flow and meet dispatch deadlines.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- Minimum of 1 year of proven experience in a warehouse, packing, or logistics role.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 25 kg (50 lbs) regularly.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize effectively.
- Basic computer literacy for scanning, data entry, and using inventory systems.
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player with good communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive physical tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate or Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Experience with inventory management systems (WMS) or similar warehouse software.
- Familiarity with optical products or working in a specialty retail distribution environment.
- Fluency in both English and Swahili.
