As a Packer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the seamless flow of goods from our suppliers through our distribution center to our extensive network of supermarkets. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve carefully preparing various items for shipment, ensuring they meet Naivas’ stringent quality and accuracy standards. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately pick, sort, and pack various products according to specific order requirements and quality standards.
- Inspect products for damage, defects, or discrepancies before packing, ensuring only high-quality items are dispatched.
- Apply appropriate labels, tags, and shipping documentation to packages precisely.
- Operate warehouse equipment safely, such as pallet jacks or trolleys, to move goods within the packing area.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering strictly to all health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to meet daily packing targets and deadlines.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock replenishment as needed, contributing to overall warehouse efficiency.
- Report any packing errors, equipment malfunctions, or safety hazards promptly to management.
Required Skills
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills (ability to read, write, and perform simple calculations)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling products
- Physical stamina and ability to lift, carry, push, and pull packages up to 25 kg repeatedly
- Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods during shifts
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong work ethic
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Adherence to safety procedures and company policies
Preferred Qualifications
- Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) or equivalent
- Previous experience (at least 6 months) in a warehouse, production, or similar packing role
- Familiarity with inventory systems or handheld scanners is an advantage
- Basic understanding of supply chain and logistics operations
