Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Painter – Decorator, Finisher to join our construction and property development team. The successful candidate will be instrumental in bringing our luxurious residential and commercial projects to life, ensuring every surface is impeccably prepared, painted, and finished to the highest standards. This role requires a keen eye for detail, a deep understanding of various painting techniques and materials, and a commitment to delivering flawless results that reflect 2Futures’ reputation for quality. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare various surfaces (walls, ceilings, woodwork, metal) by cleaning, sanding, filling, patching, and priming to ensure a smooth and even base.
- Apply paint, varnish, stain, wallpaper, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment, achieving a consistent, high-quality finish.
- Perform decorative painting techniques, including faux finishes, stenciling, and special effects, as required by design specifications.
- Carefully mix and match paint colours to achieve desired shades and consistency, adhering to architectural and interior design plans.
- Erect and dismantle scaffolding, ladders, and other access equipment safely, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Inspect finished surfaces for flaws, touch up imperfections, and ensure all work meets 2Futures' stringent quality standards.
- Protect surrounding areas and furnishings from paint splatters and damage using drop cloths, tape, and plastic sheeting.
- Maintain and clean painting tools, equipment, and work areas thoroughly after each job.
- Collaborate effectively with other tradespeople, site managers, and project coordinators to ensure seamless project execution.
- Manage paint and material inventory, requesting supplies as needed to avoid project delays.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Painter, Decorator, or Finisher in a professional setting.
- Excellent knowledge of painting techniques, materials, and tools.
- Proficiency in surface preparation, including patching, sanding, and priming.
- Strong understanding of colour theory and ability to mix and match colours accurately.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High level of attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
- Physical stamina to perform manual tasks, lift heavy objects, and work at heights.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certification or diploma in painting and decorating.
