Career.zycto is seeking highly skilled and dedicated Painters to join our dynamic renovation teams in Secunda, Mpumalanga. As a key member of our renovation crew, you will be responsible for transforming spaces with your expert painting skills, ensuring high-quality finishes that meet and exceed client expectations. Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare surfaces for painting, including scraping, sanding, patching, cleaning, and priming walls, ceilings, and other structures.
  • Apply paint, varnish, stain, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, and sprayers with precision and efficiency.
  • Perform minor repair work on surfaces (e.g., plaster repair, drywall patching) before painting.
  • Mix and match paint colours to achieve desired shades and consistency.
  • Protect surrounding areas with drop cloths, tape, and plastic sheeting to prevent paint splatter and damage.
  • Inspect finished surfaces for quality, ensuring smooth textures, consistent colour, and adherence to specifications.
  • Clean and maintain painting tools and equipment properly.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company regulations on job sites.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and other trades to ensure project completion.
  • Manage time and materials efficiently to meet project deadlines and budgets.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members if required.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Painter in renovation or construction.
  • Excellent knowledge of painting material and application techniques.
  • Solid understanding of surface preparation methods.
  • Proficiency in using various painting tools and equipment (brushes, rollers, sprayers).
  • Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good physical condition and stamina, capable of standing, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
  • Basic knowledge of safety procedures and precautions in a construction environment.
  • Effective communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Formal qualification or certification in painting or a related trade.
  • Experience with specialized finishes or decorative painting techniques.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
