Key Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for painting, including scraping, sanding, patching, cleaning, and priming walls, ceilings, and other structures.
- Apply paint, varnish, stain, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, and sprayers with precision and efficiency.
- Perform minor repair work on surfaces (e.g., plaster repair, drywall patching) before painting.
- Mix and match paint colours to achieve desired shades and consistency.
- Protect surrounding areas with drop cloths, tape, and plastic sheeting to prevent paint splatter and damage.
- Inspect finished surfaces for quality, ensuring smooth textures, consistent colour, and adherence to specifications.
- Clean and maintain painting tools and equipment properly.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company regulations on job sites.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and other trades to ensure project completion.
- Manage time and materials efficiently to meet project deadlines and budgets.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members if required.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Painter in renovation or construction.
- Excellent knowledge of painting material and application techniques.
- Solid understanding of surface preparation methods.
- Proficiency in using various painting tools and equipment (brushes, rollers, sprayers).
- Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good physical condition and stamina, capable of standing, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
