Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled, meticulously detail-oriented, and dedicated Painting Technician to join our thriving service team at GB Auto’s Damanhur Service Center. In this crucial role, you will be at the forefront of restoring the aesthetic integrity and protective finish of a wide range of vehicles, from passenger cars to commercial vehicles, ensuring they meet both our stringent internal quality standards and consistently exceed customer expectations. This position demands a keen eye for precise color matching, a steady and skilled hand, and a comprehensive understanding of various painting techniques, a broad array of materials, and advanced equipment used in modern automotive repair. You will be responsible for managing the entire painting process, starting from thorough surface preparation – including meticulous cleaning, sanding, and precise masking – moving through the accurate mixing of paint colors to achieve perfect matches, and culminating in the flawless application of base coats, clear coats, and any specialty finishes required. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare vehicle surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, feather edging, and masking.
- Accurately mix and match paint colors according to manufacturer specifications and customer requirements.
- Apply primers, base coats, clear coats, and other finishes using various spray equipment and techniques.
- Operate and maintain all painting tools and equipment, ensuring they are clean and in good working order.
- Conduct thorough inspections of finished painted surfaces for quality, ensuring a smooth, even, and defect-free finish.
- Perform minor body repairs, filler application, and touch-ups as needed before and after painting.
- Adhere strictly to all safety guidelines and environmental regulations, including proper ventilation and hazardous waste disposal.
- Identify and troubleshoot painting imperfections and implement corrective actions efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
- Collaborate effectively with other technicians and team members to ensure timely project completion.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Painting Technician, preferably in an automotive service or body shop setting.
- Proficiency in paint mixing, color matching, and application techniques using spray guns.
- Strong knowledge of various paint types (e.g., water-based, solvent-based) and their characteristics.
