Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Panel Beater – Car Body, Finishing Specialist to join our esteemed team at ABC Motors Co. Ltd. in Roche Bois, Port Louis. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for meticulously restoring damaged vehicle bodies to their original factory specifications, ensuring the highest standards of structural integrity and aesthetic finish. This involves a comprehensive range of tasks from dent removal and panel beating to complex chassis realignment and preparing surfaces for painting. You will work with a diverse range of vehicles, from luxury sedans to commercial vans, utilizing advanced tools and techniques to deliver precision repairs. Key Responsibilities
- Assess vehicle body damage and develop an appropriate repair plan.
- Remove dents, repair damaged panels, and reshape metal using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment.
- Replace damaged panels, components, and structural parts, ensuring precise fit and alignment.
- Perform welding (MIG, TIG, spot welding) and soldering techniques according to industry standards.
- Conduct chassis and frame straightening using specialized alignment systems.
- Prepare vehicle surfaces for painting, including sanding, priming, and masking.
- Identify and repair hidden damage, ensuring complete and safe restoration.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with paint technicians, mechanics, and other team members to ensure seamless workflow.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Panel Beater or Body Repair Technician.
- Proficiency in various panel beating techniques, including dent pulling, shaping, and filling.
- Strong knowledge of different welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Spot Welding).
- Familiarity with chassis and frame straightening equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and repair manuals.
- Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Understanding of automotive safety standards and repair procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Vocational training or certification in automotive body repair.
- Experience with various vehicle makes and models, including luxury brands.
- Knowledge of modern vehicle construction materials (e.g., aluminum, high-strength steel).
- Familiarity with automotive diagnostic tools related to body repair.
- Valid driver's license.
