Key Responsibilities
- Assess vehicle damage accurately and determine the most effective and efficient repair methods.
- Remove, replace, or repair damaged body panels, bumpers, and other exterior components.
- Straighten bent chassis, frames, and bodywork using specialized equipment and techniques.
- Perform dent removal, filling, sanding, and priming of repaired surfaces in preparation for painting.
- Execute welding (MIG, TIG, Spot) and cutting operations on various metal types.
- Ensure all repairs comply with manufacturer specifications, safety standards, and local regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
- Collaborate effectively with painters, mechanics, and service advisors to ensure a seamless repair process and timely project completion.
- Utilize and maintain all tools and equipment safely and effectively, reporting any malfunctions.
- Document repair work thoroughly, including parts used and hours spent, for accurate billing and record-keeping.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 3 years) as a Panel Beater or Auto Body Repair Technician.
- Proficiency in various panel beating techniques, including dent pulling, shaping, filling, and sanding.
- Strong welding skills (MIG, TIG, Spot Welding) on different materials.
- Excellent understanding of vehicle body construction, materials, and structural integrity.
- Ability to accurately read and interpret technical diagrams and repair manuals.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering superior quality workmanship.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and diagnostic skills for complex damage assessment.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal qualification or certification in Automotive Body Repair or a related field.
