We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Panel Beater to join a dynamic automotive repair team in Fairfield, Liverpool. Key Responsibilities
- Assess vehicle damage accurately and thoroughly, determining the best repair methods.
- Dismantle and reassemble vehicle components, ensuring correct fit and finish.
- Repair damaged bodywork using a variety of techniques including panel beating, welding, filling, and sanding.
- Conduct body alignment and chassis straightening as required, using specialized equipment.
- Measure and repair vehicle body structures and components to manufacturer specifications.
- Prepare vehicles for paintwork by ensuring all repaired surfaces are smooth and flawless.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with paint technicians, mechanics, and other team members.
- Inspect finished repairs for quality and ensure customer satisfaction.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Panel Beater or Body Repair Technician.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle body repair techniques and methodologies.
- Proficiency in welding (MIG/TIG), spot welding, and plastic repair.
- Ability to use a wide range of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and repair procedures.
- Strong problem-solving skills and diagnostic capabilities.
- Valid UK driving license.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Body Repair or equivalent qualification.
- ATA (Automotive Technician Accreditation) certification.
- Experience with advanced diagnostic equipment for structural damage.
- Knowledge of various vehicle manufacturer repair standards and procedures.
- Familiarity with estimating software systems (e.g., Audatex, Glassmatix).
